Basket
A first-person tidying game. Pick up the balls scattered across a room, throw them into the hoop, and watch the space empty out. No timer, no fail state. Just the chain reaction of a missed shot scattering everything again. Design is laid out and a movement prototype is in place.
Overview
A first-person tidying game. Pick up the balls that litter a room and throw them into the hoop. The more balls disappear, the more floor shows, and the more floor shows, the more space opens up.
There is no timer and no fail state. Instead, a missed shot scatters the other balls. Throw in a hurry and you re-mess the spot you just cleared. That is the game's only penalty.
Design
The action loop is simple. Pick up a ball, aim at the hoop, charge the power, throw, and the ball is gone.
The trouble starts when you miss. A stray ball scatters the remaining pile, which makes the physics itself the difficulty.
Every ball removed pays one coin, spent on skills, new spaces, shortcuts and extra hoops. Eight spaces are planned; their materials, volumes and gimmicks are not decided yet.
How it is built
What I own in this repository is the design document and the balance, not the game code. A collaborating programmer writes that. So the design doc gets treated like code, and that is how I ended up building a separate editor for it: a Python standard-library HTTP server with a contenteditable WYSIWYG on top, for editing chapters, slides, tables, cards and media in the browser. Every save also runs backup, table of contents, manifest and integrity checks.
Current state
The Unity 6 scene has movement, a first-person camera, ball pickup, a charged throw and a power gauge. Scoring, ball removal, tidiness, coins and skills still live only in the design document. There is no playable build yet, so no screenshots are attached.
